Thom Browne. Fall 2011. Want.
I love the signature pull tab on the back.
Didnt The Silentist recently rail against branding? I believe he said “I’m going to be a bit derisive here, but I think this kind of thinking [that leads to branding] often shows poor taste. And I’ll go one step further and say that brands that cater to this kind of behavior are doing themselves a disservice to their brand for the sake of more money and mass appeal.”
And isn’t that what this tab amounts to essentially?
As a note, this is not intended to be mean to The Silentist or anyone who commented recently on branding during a recent discussion. I know the situation with these shoes may not be exactly what he had in mind. I just think sometimes we subjectively approve of the branding of our favorite brands while questioning the practice among other brands, whether because we dislike them or for any other reason.
